These guys are good! You get to play piano with Tim Laughlin's New Orleans All-Stars. And what a band it is! Here are the best of New Orleans, veterans of many street parades and steamboat gigs, with a typical program of New Orleans Classics. You can play with the band or just sit back and listen to the full ensemble. Pianist Tom McDermott has included some written out Dixie-style accompaniments ("comps") which are great for working on your Dixie and stride styles. This book & CD set is from the original Music Minus One Company (MMO ) who invented the concept. The quality is superb and the chord charts and new engravings are easy to follow. Some of the up-tempo tunes also come in slower versions for practice. [Intermediate]
