This is a book teachers use and recommend for students to advance sight-reading, familiarity with all the keys, technique building, and general musicianship. It puts the learning pianist in the habit of working on and memorizing smaller units so that he may later approach longer and more difficult pieces in workable sections, as mini-pieces. The pieces each represent a scene or mood such as Player Piano, with that old time honky tonk feel, Danza Espaņola, Latin Drums, Country Fiddle, Silent Movie, Trail Rider, Meditation, 24 in all. Ed note: I have played through this book, as I do with most of the books we offer, and find the pieces extremely musical and fun to play. Composer Victor Labenske has created a small gem here with the clear purpose of making the student who masters each of these 24 pieces in all the keys a much better pianist indeed!

I would like to let Mrs. Lienhard know that I think her musical arrangements are fantastic! I am studying Jazz in Tampa, Florida, and am currently studying some of her arrangements. My teacher thought that Mrs. Lienhard's arrangements were a cut above, one step beyond, George Shearing's works! Hey, I've loved Shearing's recordings and transcriptions for years!
